International Gardens

The Hunter Valley Gardens are in bloom year-round, always inviting visitors into the flora oasis. Set on 225 hectares, the gardens main attraction is the 60 acres of international displays.

There are ten international themed gardens influenced by garden stylings from across the globe. Visit the Mediterranean as you wander through the Italian Grotto. Lined with red Bougainvillea and pink Wisterias, with a spattering of lemon, orange and olive trees, the Italian Grotto has been plucked directly from Italy and dropped into New South Wales. Not only does the grotto look like its been cut out of an Italian portrait, it smells like it too!

Speaking of delicious smelling gardens, you simply must visit the Rose Garden. With over 8000 roses for you to explore, you’ll corkscrew through the garden and become surrounded in beautiful blooms. The garden is also known as the Grandmothers Garden and pays respect to the bonds between gran mothers and their grandchildren.

Children will love the Storybook Garden, featuring homages to some of the world’s most loved nursery rhyme characters. Join Humpty Dumpty and Alice in Wonderland among other characters as they re-enact their stories in this garden.

The Instagrammer in your group will fall in love with the Border Garden. Famous as the ultimate Instagram spot, the garden is surrounded by weaving hedges, beautiful Australian natives, and bright ground covers. The Border Garden can be seen by walking along the paths or from the nearby viewing area.

Within the gardens, you can find the Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village. The village hosts a unique collection of bespoke and artisan shops offering everything from delicious meals to one-off pieces of jewellery.

The village is surrounded by a quaint and perfectly manicured gardens. Visit the Crystal Shop for high quality natural and polished crystals and beautiful Himalayan salt lamps.
