Exploring the Mountain

Thredbo mountain is perfect for new and experienced skiers to enjoy the snow together. With a mammoth 53 tracks across the mountain, there’s truly something for everyone.

Plummet down the Big 5, Australia’s five longest ski runs or stick to the beginner flats and learn how to control yourself as you move across the mountain face. Thredbo’s trails are marked and divided according to their difficulty. From First Timer to Most Difficult each course has been designed to challenge the rider as they make their way down the mountain.

Thredbo places a huge emphasis on skill development and has designated beginner bowls and terrain parks to help grow your skills before tackling harder courses.

If you’re brand new to snow sports, Thredbo has an almost never-ending list of adult and children’s lessons available. Book in for all-day group sessions or treat yourself to a one-on-one private to iron out any kinks in your form.

Around the mountain, there are fourteen lifts to help get you to the summit of your choosing. The lifts range from gondolas to T-Bars depending how far up the mountain you’re travelling. Don’t worry though, if you’ve never used a lift before the friendly staff at Thredbo will help you safely use them.

The Thredbo Village

The Thredbo Village has everything you need to enjoy your Thredbo trip.

Head to Thredbo Retail & Rental and get all the gear you need for your day in the snow. If the kids aren’t quite up to the trip that’s okay, Thredbo has all-day childcare available on the mountain so you can enjoy some snow time while the kids spend the day playing!

Rental isn’t the only retail available though! The village has an abundance of ski and snow stores for you to enjoy. If you’re staying the night there’s even a supermarket, bottle shop and chemist with everything you could need during your stay.

If you’ve spent a day skiing or snowboarding down the slopes, you’ll have worked up quite the appetite! There are twenty food spots around the mountain serving every cuisine imaginable. Settle in for a filling pub meal and beer, grab a gourmet pizza, or enjoy some Mexican tapas. Thredbo’s dining options are exquisite, with dining options to suit any kind of mood you’re in.
