OVERVIEW OF THE TOUR
Day 1 (Lunch and Dinner)Leaving behind Adelaide's busy streets, we'll head straight to the famous winemaking region of the Adelaide Hills for coffee and snacks. Continuing onwards to Halls Gap and the entrance to the sprawling Grampians National Park, we'll break for lunch to fuel up for the afternoon's activities.
Accompanied by emus and kangaroos as we drive through the Grampians, we'll soon come to the spectacular MacKenzie Falls, which are some of the largest and most beautiful found in Victoria. As the sun begins to set, we'll wander the rocky outcrops to The Balconies, a series of striking rock formations that offer vantage points across the distant mountain range. Listening to the sounds of cockatoos and kookaburras, we'll also visit the Boroka and Reeds Lookouts as the last light finally disappears beyond the surrounding hillsides. Staying deep within the Grampians, we'll be sleeping in cosy dormitory-style accommodations.
Day 2 (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)After rising early to enjoy breakfast, we'll take a two-hour hike to the Grampians' premier viewpoint – appropriately named The Pinnacle. Basking in lush bushland scenery, we'll then make our way to the nearby Brambuk Cultural Centre where you'll learn all about the fascinating local Indigenous history. Our stop for lunch is bound to impress as the Tower Hill Reserve sits atop a dormant volcano that features stunning wetlands and a diverse ecosystem that’s alive with native Australian wildlife.
As we cruise the Great Ocean Road, we'll make several stops along the way at a remarkable range of sights, including endless rock formations along Shipwreck Coast like the Bay of Martyrs, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. There's also plenty of time to enjoy the world-famous 12 Apostles, plus you can take a helicopter ride at an additional cost. Experiencing another brilliant sunset, we'll roam the coastal boardwalks before sleeping in dormitory-style accommodation along the Great Ocean Road.
Day 3 (Breakfast & Lunch)We'll launch into our final day with a splendid nature walk through the cool temperate rainforests of the Great Otway National Park. As we drive along some of the most outstanding coastal roads in Australia, we'll make sure to take an ocean swim and explore the charming beachside towns of Apollo Bay and Lorne. Meanwhile, watch out for world-class surfers carving up the waves at the acclaimed Bells Beach and Torquay.
Bringing our three-day adventure to a conclusion, we'll arrive in the big city of Melbourne by approximately 7pm.
